This is one very special Alaskan adventure you will never forget. Your glacier dog sled tour from Alpine Air Alaska starts with a spectacular helicopter ride into the majestic Chugach Mountains and onto Punch Bowl Glacier at 3,200 feet above sea level.
Once you arrive on the snowfield, you will learn how Alaskan Huskies are bred, see how they are trained to pull the sled, and how they have an exceptional amount of endurance. Dog sledding with Alaskan Huskies is such a large part of Alaskan life and history and this tour will provide you with a deeper appreciation of the importance these special dogs play in the state’s history and leave you with the thrill of a lifetime.
Once the learning is completed, you will then have a very special opportunity to relax and enjoy the view as you ride on a sled around the glacier. Enjoy the scenic peaks and valleys on all sides of you on Punch Bowl Glacier before your scenic helicopter flight back to Girdwood.
Open May 21st to August 31st.
This tour departs from the Alpine Air Alaska’s hangar in Girdwood, Alaska, about 40 miles south of Anchorage.
