As you arrive in Fairbanks, take a minute to drink it all in and relax before your journey begins. Overnight at a partner hotel.

DAY 2: Celebrate the past

Explore Fairbanks your way on the first full day in “The Last Frontier.” You may decide to climb on board the Riverboat Discovery or join the Gold Dredge 8 tour on the Chena River before returning to your hotel to rest and prepare for the next day’s adventures.

DAY 3: Arrive at Denali's doorstep

Take the train from Fairbanks to Denali Cabins, just minutes from Denali National Park. Get your first glimpses of the region’s legendary landscapes as you settle into a cozy, private cabin, where you’ll stay for the next three evenings.

A bus rounds a corner along a mountainside road.

DAY 4: Venture into northern wilderness

Discover the wonders of untamed wilderness aboard a Denali Backcountry Adventure. This all-new tour takes you off the beaten path east of Denali National Park on the legendary Denali Highway. Experience quintessential Alaska activities, including gold panning, a sled dog kennel tour and a guided nature hike, enroute to the remote Alpine Creek Lodge. Return to Denali Cabins to spend another relaxing evening.

DAY 5: Discover more in Denali

Choose your own adventure in and around Denali! Optional activities include rafting, ziplining, ATVing and flightseeing. It’s also a perfect day to explore the national park before leaving tomorrow. There’s no shortage of hikes and sights to take in at your own pace. Overnight one last time at Denali Cabins.

DAY 7: Crash through rivers, soar over glaciers

Explore Talkeetna, perhaps through an adventurous flightseeing tour or jet boat ride on a glacier-fed river. Then, enjoy a hearty meal at Homestead Kitchen before you continue to Anchorage.

DAY 8: Take a scenic drive on the Seward Highway

Travel from Anchorage to Seward and enjoy one of the most scenic drives in North America. Hug the shores of the Turnagain Arm as you watch for belugas, Dall sheep and, if the timing’s right, the famed bore tide. Then, kick back with a night at the beautiful Windsong Lodge.

DAY 9: A stunning blend of fjords and wildlife

Embark on a Kenai Fjords Tour on Resurrection Bay and take in spectacular sea life and scenery. You’ll stop and overnight at Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge on the remote Fox Island. Activities include exploring the pebbled beaches with a park ranger and learning to prepare fresh salmon with our executive chef.
